Beginner Intensive($320 includes all materials and use of school machinery)
This week-end course covers all the basic techniques required to use the main bed of the knitting machine, including cast-on and cast-off, striping, increasing and decreasing, short rowing plus some troubleshooting techniques. This course is appropriate for complete beginners, or those who want to brush up on their knowledge.

Patterning Intensive - ($320 includes all materials and use of school machinery)
This weekend course covers patterning techniques on the main bed of the machine: fair-isle, tuck, slip, lace, plating, weave and intarsia. Suitable for students who have basic knowledge of the machine or who have taken the Beginner Class.
Both days 9.00am – 4.00pm. Please bring a lunch.

Ribber Intensive -  ($320 includes all materials and use of school machinery)

This weekend course introduces you to the ribber bed and expands your repertoire of stitches. It is suitable for those who are already familiar with main bed techniques. You will learn ribber cast-on and cast-off, shaping, ribs structures, basic cables, plating, jacquard and racking.
Both days 9.00am – 4.00pm. Please bring a lunch.

Garment Intensive (REVISED) – ($320 includes all materials and use of school machinery)
This class allows students to further cement their skills on the knitting machine.  All elements of translating an idea to a finished garment will be covered. Students will learn how to make and wet finish an accurate tension swatch, then using simple math and the Magic Formula, calculate a pattern. Working from body measurements or a garment, you can create original patterns to your own specifications. Learn how different rib starts affect the fit, learn how to calculate dimensions and shaping and how different fashioning methods affect the appearance of the garment. Learn finishing techniques including the linker. Please note – this is a new class. No garment will be made in class, but mock-ups of tension swatches, necklines, fashioning, trims will be made as appropriate to design and time.  Both days 9.00am – 4.00pm.

All four machine knitting classes are being offered back to back. Go from a complete beginner to your first garment in less than two weeks. All days 9.00am – 4.00pm.

Technology Intensive – to be announced
$750 per person* or $3450 for a group of six. **

This two day course presents students with the basic principles of weft knit construction. Lectures and lab work will allow the student to develop skills in identifying different knit structures, understand sweater garment construction and learn industry standard communication practices. Students will build a book during class which will go home with them.
Both days 9am- 12pm  & 1pm – 4pm.

*$750 price based on class with at least two students. The class can be taught to individuals at one-on-one rate of $105/hr.

Cable Intensive   ($320 – materials included)
We’ll start with a simple 2 over 2 cable and take it from there. Students can work at their own pace and get as complicated as they like. Direction and encouragement will be given for larger more complex cables including traveling stitches and main bed to ribber transfers. By the end of the day not only will you have accumulated a small cable library, you will be comfortable with using the transfer tools, cabling and maybe even designing your own cables! Knowledge of main bed and ribber essential.
